Job Description
Objectives:
Mobilizer will be responsible for all community/social efforts and external liaison with the community members of relevant project areas, including establishing project interventions committees and identifying volunteers from the community.
Develop strategy of community interaction and hold first dialogues meetings with the communities for project interventions.
To liaise with the community to ensure their participation and that community is responding to identified.
Introduce the program concept and develop a long-term vision of the program in the communities.
Prepare a profile of the area by collecting data on project area statistics particularly on status of the area population and division into better off, well off, poor, poorest and destitute.
Introduce program packages to organize the communities.
Give social guidance to organize communities.
To organize and conduct meetings, workshops/conversations planning exercises and campaigns with the community through community representative.
Liaise and work with community groups and projects to ensure accountability and best use of project resources
Organize communities, organizations and partners for management of the project.
Facilitate formation of appropriate gross root level conservation forums for co-implementation of the interventions in the project areas.
Lead and facilitate the field teams in conducting field surveys, resource need assessments and participatory appraisals in the project area.
Write conservation Plans and other weekly activity/progress reports on desired formats
Preparing monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual reports about social mobilization activities for submission to the Project Manager.
Develop and maintain the necessary documentation and record of project and organization activities.
Keep close coordination and liaison with field teams, communities, partner NGOs and CBOs and assist all in data collection from the field.
Help the technical staff in organizing community meetings, workshops/conservation planning exercises and campaigns.
Take lead in resolution and management of the relevant community conflicts over common resource utilization in the project area.
Document and share lessons learnt achievements and successes from the field.
Distribution of packages Keep the beneficiaries record
Any other task assigned by the Line Manager.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and internet applications
Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiarity with the local language, customs and traditions in the area.
Strong cross-cultural communication, problem solving skill, result oriented and sensitivity to gender issues.
